  • We provide a post-procedure kit for you to use 1-3 days after your treatment while healing. Pre-Treatment Guidelines
What to avoid prior to treatment
  1. Do not take blood-thinning medications: Avoid aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), vitamin E, and other blood-thinning supplements for at least 5-7 days before the procedure, as these can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising.
  2. Avoid sun exposure: Limit sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a week prior to the treatment. Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher to protect your skin.
  3. Skip certain skin care products: Discontinue the use of retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other exfoliating agents for at least 3-5 days before the procedure to minimize skin sensitivity.
  4. Avoid smoking and alcohol: Refrain from smoking and alcoholic beverages for at least 48 hours prior to the procedure, as these can interfere with healing.
  5. Health conditions: Inform your practitioner of any skin conditions (like eczema or psoriasis), infections, or recent surgeries. Certain medical conditions may contraindicate microneedling.
Post-Treatment Guidelines
Recommendations after treatment
  1. Keep the Area Clean: Gently cleanse the treated area with a mild, non-fragranced cleanser. Avoid scrubbing or using any harsh exfoliants in the days following the procedure.
  2. Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours post-treatment to reduce the risk of irritation and infection.
  3. Hydration: Use a gentle moisturizer to keep the skin hydrated. Look for products containing hyaluronic acid, which can help soothe the skin.
  4. Sun Protection: Protect your skin from sun exposure. Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, and avoid direct sunlight for at least a week.
  5. Avoid Heat: Stay away from hot showers, saunas, and intense workouts for a few days, as these can exacerbate redness and irritation.
  6. No Picking or Scratching: Avoid touching, picking, or scratching the treatment area. This can lead to scarring and infection.
  7. Be Cautious with Active Ingredients: Avoid using products containing retinol, AHAs, or BHAs for at least a week after treatment, as they can irritate the skin.
Maintenance
  1. Regular SPF Use: Continue to use sunscreen daily to protect your skin, as it may be more sensitive after microneedling.
  2. Follow-up Treatments: We always recommend a series of microneedling treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for best results.
